Geographical features

Mountains (Lombard Alps) and some hills cover the territory of the province of Como, and the most important body of water is the glacial Lake of Como.

In 2001 Como had 78,315 inhabitants (36,805 male and 41,510 female), with a density of 2097.4 people/km2. (Source: ISTAT)
